Listening to a lot of #ninasimone lately. This is Listening to a lot of #ninasimone lately. This is one of my favourite chord progressions.
Going right back to 1940 with Jimmy Blanton’s am Going right back to 1940 with Jimmy Blanton’s amazing duet with Duke Ellington on “Body and Soul”. I’ve been having so much fun learning this… Apparently Jimmy was a violinist before switching to bass. I knew he played with the Duke Ellington Orchestra but didn’t know it’s was only for two years before he died of tuberculosis at the age of 23. #jimmyblanton
